h-trak UK User Group Meeting 2022

After a gap of three years, we were thrilled to be able to host the UK h-trak User Group Meeting for our customers.

We have certainly missed being in the same room as representatives from all our h-trak customer sites. Whilst we are in regular communication, there is no substitute for face-to-face contact. It was great for the attendees to share their experiences with other customers in a non-clinical setting and to be able to find out about product enhancements and applications.

The venue, County Hall, is an old favourite of ours for its proximity to good transport links, great hospitality, stylish environment and good facilities, all in the shadow of Big Ben.

Setting the scene for the day was Toni Mateus da Silva, UK General Manager, who welcomed our guests and recapped on the challenges that all healthcare organisations and providers have had to overcome in the last few years. Kirk Kikirekov, our Managing Director, followed by providing a picture of the global h-trak business before focusing on the UK specifically.

Patient safety is a key cornerstone of the h-trak point of care solution in the UK, so we were delighted that James Mayne, Programme Manager and Scan4Safety Lead at the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust could present, along with Nick Roots, our Sales & Account Manager, on the current NHS thinking on Scan4Safety; the Cumberlege report and potential developments on implants tracking, with the National Joint Register.  The NJR possibilities certainly provided food for thought.

Project Managers from four of our newer h-trak implementations took to the lectern to outline the rationale for choosing our scanning solution and outlined their experiences of the implementations. We heard from East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust on their Elective Orthopaedic Centre; London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust on their Cardiac Catheterisation Lab in Northwick Park; from Genmed on their managed service implementation at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital for 14 theatres and from University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust on their forthcoming implementation at the Queen’s Hospital in Burton.

What was illuminating is that most customers started their h-trak journey with a focus on stock management and procedure costing but quickly understand the enormous value for patient safety.

Following a networking lunch, discussions were held on the use of h-trak in current hospitals, the opportunities for expansion and future scoping.

Presentations were also given on the h-trak Preference Card Management, where the first release has been deployed to production, and which is currently being implemented at one of our customers in Australia. We also had a recap on the power of data, using h-control.

All attendees found the day informative and engaging – and look forward to the 2023 event.
