Our UK h-trak Implementation team spent the recent heatwave auditing the stock in the Eye and General theatres storerooms at the Cheltenham General Hospital, part of the Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. There may have been soaring temperatures outside but inside the team kept their cool, ensuring that the data foundations are robust for the forthcoming h-trak implementation.

As part of our five-phase implementation process we undertake an initial audit of the inventory held in storerooms and theatres using our s-trak software, scanning and compiling a list of all items in store.  This audit enables us to identify key suppliers and fill any gaps that need addressing.

The work currently in the Eye and General Theatres is part of staged approach to h-trak implementations for the trust. An earlier implementation at Cheltenham General in the four-theatre Cheltenham Orthopaedics complex went live in April, as did 17 general theatres in the Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.

h-trak is enabling the trust to track products to patients as well as producing information and reports by procedure and consultant.
